Nestled in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is a sanctuary where nature and history blend seamlessly. Known for its thriving population of Bengal tigers, the reserve is framed by dense forests, rolling hills, and ancient ruins that echo stories of bygone dynasties.
Wildlife lovers and photographers find Bandhavgarh a paradise, not just for its regal tigers but also for its thriving biodiversity. Leopards, Sloth Bears, Elephants, and several deer species roam freely across its core zones. Birdwatchers, too, are rewarded with sightings of striking avian species like the White-rumped Shama, Greater Adjutant Stork, and Red Jungle Fowl.
At Travelling Tripod Photography, every safari is more than just a wildlife outing—it’s a chance to immerse yourself in raw wilderness, capture unforgettable frames, and witness the magic of untamed India.
Arrive in Bandhavgarh by afternoon and check in at our comfortable resort anytime after 12 noon. After a refreshing welcome and a hearty dinner, our TTP Skipper will brief the group about the park’s wildlife, rules, and photography opportunities, setting the tone for the adventure ahead. Overnight stay at the resort, filled with anticipation of the wilderness awaiting us.
The day begins with an early wake-up call as we head straight to the park gate, eager to be among the first to enter. This maximizes our chances of tracking fresh pugmarks and spotting tigers during their most active hours at dawn.
The beauty of Bandhavgarh unfolds before us—whether it’s the tiger’s stealthy stride or the magic of the forest, every moment is a photographer’s delight. After lunch, we embark on the afternoon safari around 2:30 p.m. While waiting for tigers to stir, we indulge in bird-watching and photography of species like the White-rumped Shama, Red Jungle Fowl, and Greater Adjutant Storks. Our expert Skipper coordinates closely with guides and drivers to maximize sighting opportunities.
Return in the evening for tea, followed by a photography learning session, dinner, and rest.
With growing familiarity of the park’s landscape, we set out on another exciting morning safari, focusing on tiger movement and other wildlife encounters. From majestic cats to Sloth Bears, Leopards, and diverse birdlife, the jungle offers endless photography opportunities.
After lunch and rest, we resume our adventure with the afternoon safari, perfect for bird photography and late-evening tiger activity. The day concludes with an interactive photography discussion, dinner, and a good night’s sleep.
Our final morning safari offers one last opportunity to witness Bandhavgarh’s magic and capture those unforgettable frames. After breakfast, we check out and transfer to Katni or Umaria (for trains) or Jabalpur (for flights), wrapping up a memorable 3-night, 4-day Bandhavgarh Photography Expedition with TTP.
Here, the rhythm of life flows with the tiger’s presence, and every safari unfolds like a theatre of the wild. The tiger is not merely an animal—it’s an emotion, an awe-inspiring paradox of strength and grace. No matter how many times you’ve seen one, the excitement in the air is palpable with every sighting.
Bandhavgarh has a unique power to leave visitors spellbound. Some fall into hushed silence, while others rejoice with uncontainable glee—but no one leaves untouched by its enchantment. It’s no surprise that the tiger has long been celebrated as the world’s most admired animal.
Your journey through Bandhavgarh’s meadows, draped in morning dew, and forests, alive with hidden wonders, offers more than just wildlife sightings. Halfway up the iconic Bandhavgarh Fort, a colossal reclining statue of Lord Vishnu keeps watch, silently witnessing the eternal dance of predator and prey below.
The park is a thriving mosaic of wildlife. Jackals, jungle cats, and rare vultures such as the long-billed, red-headed, and Egyptian soar above. Keen birders are treated to delights like the Malabar Pied Hornbill, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Stork-billed Kingfisher, and the spectacular Asian Paradise Flycatcher. Raptors like the White-eyed Buzzard, Changeable Hawk-Eagle, and Crested Serpent Eagle add to the thrill of the skies.
At Bandhavgarh, every moment is a story waiting to be captured—a tapestry of wildlife, history, and raw natural beauty. With TTP’s expert field guidance, your safari transforms into an unforgettable experience, combining learning, adventure, and photography in perfect harmony.
